About us
In his over 2 decades as a business owner, Gus Czaplak, Certified Master Inspector® and principal at TLC Home Inspections LLC has been serving his customers with the same dedication, honesty and integrity with which he served our country.
Outside of his time as Seargeant in the US Army, Gus has lived and breathed construction, remodeling and inspections his entire life. He grew up as a child working with his father’s residential and commercial remodeling company. Later, after his military service, he worked for his father-in-law’s commercial construction company until he started his own business with his wife.
Gus and Candice opened TLC Building & Remodeling when their two boys were little and operated it successfully for a decade until he transitioned fully into Home Inspections and Candice became a Real Estate Broker.
Now, more than 15 years later, because of loyal customers like you, TLC Home Inspections is still a thriving veteran owned family business. With Gus in the field and Candice behind the scenes, TLC Home Inspections has served over 5000 satisfied customers, won multiple awards and is still growing.

- Unlike some other inspectors who have just read about things, studied in a course, or passed a licensure exam, Gus has done all of those things (in 3 different states) and he has also lived it. Much of what he sites on a report he’s actually constructed, installed, remodeled or repaired which is a rare and unique value.
- Gus learned from and worked as a “mechanic of the trade” across all disciplines. From forming and pouring foundations all the way up through the framing, drywall, lighting, kitchens, baths, doors, windows, decks, insulation, rafters, roofing – all of it and everything in between.

- Candice served as a licensed Real Estate Broker with her own firm for 10+ years – currently TN Licensed Real Estate Broker (retired) and Gus and Zavier have learned and experienced beside her every step of the way.
- Though he has never practiced as a real estate agent, Gus is a TN Licensed Real Estate Affiliate Broker (retired).
